Where in the world is Brunswick County?

Brunswick county is the southernmost county along the NC coastline. Blessed with miles of sandy beaches, acres of saltwater marshes and crisscrossed by rivers and tidal creeks, it has become a mecca for those who crave life on the waterfront.
Brunswick county is home to five barrier island. From east to west, they are Bald Head Island, Oak Island (including Long Beach, Caswell Beach and Fort Fisher), Holden Beach, Ocean Isle and Sunset Beach. Historic Southport, soon to be host to one of the largest ports in the U.S., is also in Brunswick county, along with the fishing village of Calabash and golf haven Carolina Shores.
The county seat is Bolivia. Shallotte, NC is the retail hub for several of the beaches. St James is a town built around love of golf. The town of Boiling Spring Lakes centers around a 150 acre lake fed by 6 springs and creeks and plenty of legend around the boiling spring. Other rural towns – Leland, Nevassa, Belville, Sandy Creek and Northwest – are clustered in the northeast part of the county near Wilmington, NC.
Brunswick county is the 28th fastest growing county in the U.S. and a quick tour of the area will quickly reveal why so many people want to call our spot on the map home.
